When people divide because of differences, our society loses something. Diversity creates a better future if we learn how to be and work together. That is what I have felt since I was in the first grade of elementary school, and it has only become stronger as I have worked with and supported social entrepreneurs for more than fifteen years in the United States and Japan. This wish to connect across differences is why I resonate with the vision of World in You – bringing people together from all walks of life to make a better world.

A diverse people gather here at World in You, inspired by their own personal experiences and hopes, to make a better world. This has been the same since our foundation as World in Asia in 2011 and our first name change to World in Tohoku since 2014. In 2022, we changed our name for the second time to World in You to convey our founding philosophy more directly and widely.

The name World in You does not end there; It means that when the world inside of you meets the world in someone or somewhere else, the encounter can enrich each other’s worlds and lead to a better society.

That’s why World in You provides opportunities for people who have never met before to connect across boundaries, build relationships, learn, collaborate, and co-create for a better society. In particular, we focus on connecting different sectors, including non-profit and business, and Japan and overseas. We focus on leadership, governance including organizational decision-making, and relationship building to nurture co-creation for a better world.

To tackle complex social issues, we need more and more leadership and organizations that can work across boundaries and catalyze collaboration and co-creation.
Not only is it necessary, but it is also fascinating and rewarding to be able to work together to create a better society from anywhere in the world.

• Cross-Boundary Leadership

  World in You cultivates much-needed cross-boundary leadership that serves the needs of society. We design and implement leadership training programs for people from diverse backgrounds to meet, learn, grow together, and collaborate to make the world a better place. We conduct leadership programs for corporate employees, as well as collaborative programs with corporate and social sector participants.

  

• Governance for Impact

  World in You explores and promotes Governance for Impact, governance where people bring in their diverse perspectives and resources for better decision-making and mission achievement to create value for society. We conduct the Board Fellow Program and other training and consulting services, and share knowledge in the nonprofit board and governance field.

  

• Global Mindset

  World in You helps local nonprofits and mission-driven businesses connect with the world, take lessons from global knowledge and good practices, and expand their impact globally. We provide overseas expansion and fundraising support, research, and other services.
